An exhibition by sculptor and artist Alfis Sabirov, creator of his own unique mythology
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
An exhibition by sculptor and artist Alfis Sabirov, creator of his own unique mythology

The new exhibition "Urman. Mythical Land" introduces the work of Alfis Sabirov, a sculptor and artist known for his distinctive personal mythology. His works are housed in museum and private collections across Paris, New York, London, Berlin, Dubai, and Tokyo. He collaborates with global brands, including Lexus, Caparol, Exeed, and Louis Vuitton.

"My art is deeply rooted in national, cosmic, and primal motifs. It draws inspiration from ancient artifacts —objects unearthed in excavations that once served ritualistic purposes and have now reached us as fragments of history and art. I see the structural elements of legends and myths as a reflection of life itself, as parts of something greater," – says the artist.

"Urman. Mythical Land" is a return to our origins, a journey into the power of the primal through Sabirov’s sculptural mythopoetics — an exploration of the forest as a source of energy and spirit. The exhibition begins with the central sculpture, "Ayu Bala", which reflects the traditional way of raising sons in Tatar families, and extends to metamorphic sculptures that radiate a deep connection to historical and cultural heritage. Sabirov reinterprets Tatar traditions and identity, yet his sculptures seem to resonate with the ancient cultures of the world. His artistic vision transcends conventional perception —beyond the five senses — offering a broader, almost mystical worldview. Through his mythological characters in sculpture and graphics, viewers are invited to glimpse hidden worlds of matter, energy, and life across time.
The exhibition is open until February 16, 2025, daily from 12:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.
