One of the most influential artists of Tatarstan.
In 1968 he graduated from the Kazan Art School; in 1971 he created the bureau Studio 17, which was engaged in the development of interiors and objects of object design. Since 1989 Evgeny Golubtsov has been concentrating on easel painting, turning to the subjects of the early Renaissance, the tradition of icon painting and folk lubok. No less important component of the artist's work is abstract works referring to the traditions of European modernism and the Russian avant-garde.
Golubtsov's works are in the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tsaritsyno Museum (Moscow), Deventer Museum (Holland), in private collections in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Russia, USA, Switzerland.
